Ignazio (Ian) Peter Ricciardi
Ian has been involved in the Western Australian Fishing Industry since 1975 . The Ricciardi Family group have interests in Shark Bay prawn trawlers, Ian has worked on and operated trawlers in Shark Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria and Kimberly Prawn Fisheries.
Ian also has interests in the South West Trawl Fishery, through One Sea Pty Ltd – Rottnest Island Scallop. The Ricciardi Family built and operated an Export Food Processing Facility in North Coogee and holds 50% interest in Fremantle City Coldstores. Ian held the position of President of Shark Bay Prawn Association for 10 years and has significant experience in WA Fisheries related processes, the group is currently exporting and nationally marketing Premium quality seafood.
Ian has been on the abalone trail since 1997 – supporting 8 years of green lip abalone Research and Development at Great Southern Marine Hatcheries (GSMH) Albany, supporting LakeVista Enterprises – 2 year feasibility study contemplating land based abalone growout, after which as shareholder in Two Oceans Abalone Pty Ltd (TOA) 2007 -2011 helped administer oceanic abalone ranching Research and Development, the result of which saw a JV with 888 Abalone Pty Ltd (Bremer Bay hatchery) – in Jan 2011 Ocean Grown Abalone Pty Ltd (OGA) evolved, recently Ian and Claude Ricciardi have taken a larger shareholding in OGA and continue to support Brad and the OGA team in the expansion of OGA to become the biggest producer of ocean grown green lip abalone in Western Australia.
